New Year – New Global Challenges

New Year – New Global Challenges

We are all emerging from a long pandemic that forced us to work remotely, suspend non-essential expenses and halt all our travel plans.

Just when we thought we saw light at the end of the tunnel, that light happened to be the freight train carrying supply chain issues, inflation and increased oil prices.

As organizations put in place plans to return to work, there are concerns employees have not just around the spread of virus but also around flexibility that they are now used to. Things seem to be becoming worse with rising inflation that has an impact on everyone. While work from home started as a measure to prevent the spread of virus, people now also see it as a way to save time (travel) and costs.

So, the big question here is: What can be done do to ensure a win-win situation for both organizations and employees. While there are diverse perspectives to this, most organizations are looking at a hybrid approach where employees work from office few days a week. Then there are organizations that are giving their employees flexibility to work remotely full time.  Whatever the approach be, there is an element of remote work involved.

This is a win win situation for both organizations and employees. From an employee’s perspective they have more flexibility. They have more time at hand which they would otherwise spend commuting. This has increased their productivity and at the same time helped them save costs which they would have incurred in a full-time work from office scenario.

While there are benefits for both organizations and employees, there are challenges as well. Remote work would mean that employees can now access organizational resources anytime, from anywhere and any device. This can pose device management and security challenges.

For most enterprises, who want to give their remote or hybrid workforce top compliance and employee experience, UEM (Unified endpoint management) is the answer. UEM offers a single platform that helps protect and manage a wide range of employee devices and operating systems. One huge benefit of UEM is speed. You can detect and respond to threats, vulnerabilities, and breaches faster. Another is the lowering of the cost of ownership over time because you’re able to manage endpoints at scale more efficiently.

Among the various UEM solutions available, IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson stands out as a preferred option for enterprises. IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson protects devices, applications, content, and data so you can rapidly scale your remote workforce and BYOD initiatives. And with Watson, you take advantage of contextual analytics through AI for actionable insights.

The following reasons are why you should consider choosing IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson as your UEM:

–          You get a scalable global delivery from a security-rich, trusted, open, best-in-class cloud platform.

–          This solution is extremely user friendly and simple to operate, thanks in part to software-as-a-service (SaaS) technology.

–          Integration with and management of devices and platforms you use, including the Microsoft ecosystem, is easier than most other UEM options.

–          No vendor lock-in allows you to use whatever technology you prefer in conjunction with operating IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson.

–          You have flexibility to determine access to your company’s resources behind firewalls.

–          AI-powered analytics assist in your daily activities and provide full access to reports as needed.

–          Compared with other UEM options, IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson is more affordable for small and midsize organizations.

Using MaaS360 is a win-win during these challenging times. What’s more, organizations can continue to use MaaS360 when employees want or need to return to the physical office and are on the corporate network.
