The Shared Device Utilization Dashboard is a centralized hub for monitoring shared device usage with real-time visibility, historical tracking, and remote sign-out capabilities. Managing shared devices was never been so easier. Let's explore how can we leverage this dashboard to maintain security, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Accessing the Shared Device Utilization Dashboard
There are two ways to access the Shared Device Utilization Dashboard:
1. Through Navigation

- Navigate to the Devices tab in the main menu.
- Click on Shared Device Utilization Dashboard to open the workflow.
2. Through the New Home Page Widget

- The Shared Device Utilization Widget provides a high-level overview of signed-in and signed-out devices.
- This widget is interactive and provides option of drill down chart which means admins can click on a specific status (e.g., signed-in devices) which turns takes them directly to a filtered view within the dashboard.
Exploring the Shared Device Utilization Dashboard
Once inside the Shared Device Utilization Dashboard, you’ll find a detailed report that displays real-time status and key information about all shared devices, including:
- Device Name and device ID
- Last User accessed
- Current status
- Last Sign-In & Sign-Out Time
- Session duration
- Managed status (to differentiate corporate managed devices from unmanaged ones)

To make device management more efficient, we provide robust search and filter options:
- Search by: Device Name, Username, or Device ID.
- Filter by: Platform (e.g., iOS, Android) and Session Duration (based on a custom time range).
Taking Action: Remote Sign-Out
Admins can take immediate action if they identify unauthorized or inactive sessions. There are two ways to sign out devices remotely:
1. Single Device Sign-Out

- Select a device and click on the Sign-Out icon.
- A confirmation prompt appears with details about the device and the session.
- Once confirmed, the sign-out request is queued, and the dashboard updates once the device acknowledges it.
2. Bulk Device Sign-Out

- Use checkboxes to select multiple devices.
- Click the Sign-Out icon at the top.
- A confirmation prompt displays the number of devices selected.
- Upon confirmation, the sign-out request is queued, and a success notification appears.
Logging & Historical Tracking
Understanding device and user activity is key to maintaining security and compliance. The dashboard provides detailed logging capabilities, including:
Device History
- View which users have logged into a device.
- Track session durations to identify usage patterns.
Device session history plays a key role in auditing and compliance. By tracking usage over time, it ensures adherence to security policies. It also helps detect unauthorized access, monitor unusual activity, and optimize device utilization by analyzing how often and by whom a shared device is used.
For example, admins can use device session history to track who accessed a kiosk workstation and when.
User History
- Check which devices a specific user has accessed.
- Track total time spent on shared devices to detect anomalies.
Tracking a specific user's activity on a shared device enhances personalization by preserving preferences, settings, and saved work across sessions. It also strengthens access control by preventing unauthorized access through session logging and anomaly detection. Security and privacy are improved by ensuring sessions close properly, reducing the risk of data leaks.
For instance, a session log allows users to seamlessly resume work or identify if their account was accessed from another device.
These insights help admins monitor device usage trends and detect any suspicious behaviour.
Exporting Reports

To facilitate automation and compliance tracking, the dashboard allows admins to export reports for further analysis. Reports can be generated and sent via email in CSV or Excel format from their respective dashboards.
