App Marketplace Update: Enhancing Quality by Retiring Non-Supported Apps

We hope this message finds you well. At IBM, we are committed to providing the best possible experience for our users, partners, and developers. As part of this commitment, we are constantly evaluating our product offerings and the ecosystem surrounding it.

After careful consideration, we have decided to archive/disable a number [117] of apps from our AppExchange which were built on CentOS6. Most of the apps are already upgraded to new base image which are supported by QRadar SIEM. Our business partners had engaged frequently with the technology partners resulting in availability of the newer version of the apps listed on IBM App Exchange.

Why Are We Delisting Apps?

Product Compatibility: Our primary goal is to ensure that all apps available in our marketplace are fully compatible with our products. This ensures a seamless and trouble-free experience for our users. Unfortunately, some of the apps in our marketplace have become incompatible due to changes in our product architecture or technology advancements.

User Experience: We want to provide our users with the best possible experience, and this includes having a well-curated selection of apps that meet our quality and functionality standards.

What’s Next?

We are about to disable/archive the CentOS based apps by February 2024 to April 2024. What we expect from all of you is that engage with this post mentioning your apprehension in case any in the comment section or follow https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/qradar-how-open-and-manage-cases to raise query here. We will review all of those & provide you with the best workaround though this will have minimal impact as majority of the apps are already upgraded to newer supported version.

Conclusion

At IBM, we remain committed to delivering exceptional products and experiences to our community. The decision to delist certain apps from our marketplace is a step toward maintaining the highest standards of quality, compatibility, and user satisfaction.

Thank you for your understanding and continued trust in IBM. Together, we will continue to build a brighter future for our community.

Sincerely,

Aashish Sharma
