 Trace Analyses run in Cognos from Audit

Hi,

I have a requirement to trace all the Analyses (not reports) that were run during a particular period in our Cognos environment. When I try using a report created on existing  Audit package with 'Report Type' field included (where Report type = 'Analysis reportservice' ), I do not get any output (No data available). There are analyses in our Cognos production and there are analysis studio users who run them. Could anybody let me know how I can query for Analyses run by users either using the Audit package or by using direct SQL from Cognos on the Audit db which is in SQL Server.

The Cognos version we are using is 11.2.4 and I am trying to trace all the analyses and their users as we are upgrading to 12.1.x and need to transition the users from analysis studio to reports post upgrade.

Hi Mack, 

I just tried it with my 11.2.4 environment having log level for all services set to Basic and then I see Analysis reportservice in Audit-DB (audit report).

But only running as report (using Chrome). With Firefox the Analyse Studio is used and this requests are not added in COGIPF_RUNREPORT.

To see the usage of Analysis Studio you need to look at COGIPF_EDITQUERY table (COGIPF_TARGET_TYPE = 'Analysis ReportService').

Thank you! but I also want to query the details of users who ran these analyses from Analysis Studio. I am only able to trace the package and model details from the COGIPF_EDITQUERY. Could you please let me know how?

To get the user information you need to join table COGIPF_EDITQUERY with COGIPF_USERLOGON by sesssion ID and COGIPF_USERLOGON.logon-operation = Logon
