SPSS Stats glitching and freezing

Question

I am trying to slowly copy data into an spss file and when in data view each time i get to a certain number of columns the entire view starts glitching, freezing and overlapping columns and repeating numbers. This has happened with each new file i create. I have deleted and redownloaded SPSS. I have reviewed my display settings. What do i do?

Are you trying to populate the SPSS Statistics Data Editor by copying and pasting from some other application? Does the problme go away when you copy/paste smaller blocks of text/data?

Copying to the OS clipboard and pasting into an application can be a very inefficient and potentially destructive thing to do. Where is your data originally? Is it possible for you to identify a common file type that both your application and IBM SPSS Statistics can read and write.
