SPSS Modeler 18.6 Not Launching

Question

After installing SPSS Modeler 18.6, it will not launch; nothing happens. If I select "run as administrator", it brings up the licensing server. After going through the licensing server process (which shouldn't need to happen since the server has been updated with our license key), it accepts that and says it will work on the next launch. However, when trying to launch again, it does the same thing & will not launch. I've tried this on three different computers with no luck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, version 18.4 from last year still launches with no issues on a different computer.

I encountered this exact same issue with SPSS Modeler Client 18.6 pointed to a concurrent license server for activation. After researching this issue, I found IBM posted interim fix: 18.6.0.0-S18MODELER-WIN64-IF001 (18.71 KB) on JAN 22, 2025 that resolves this issue. This interim fix can be downloaded from IBM's Fix Central. The download contains a revised startup.jar file to replace the existing file in C:\Program Files\IBM\SPSS\Modeler\18.6\lib. This fix should be embedded in version 18.6.1, whenever it is released.
