Hello (Storage Insights) Team, @Sushil Sharma
I have a question about the unmapped capacity figures in SI Pro.
When I look at the storage system properties, I get a figure of 12TiB of unmapped capacity.
This figure also matches what I see on the Flash system.
When I then look at the properties of the (only) pool in the system, I get a (very large) figure of 5220TiB.
I can't make sense of this. If I add up the capacities of the existing unmapped vdisks (including the change-vols), I don't get anywhere near this high number.
Can someone explain this to me please?
Pool Properties:
We have multiple SI instances, and I'm also seeing this in another environment.
Thanks.
It's becoming increasingly unclear to me. Within two days, the unmapped capacity has grown from 5220TiB to 7490TiB.The pattern over a week also gives me a surprising picture.Does anyone have an explanation for these numbers?
Maybe due to scheduled snapshots ?
Hi Hans, thanks for your input. In the system shown in the example above, no snapshots are taken.
I cannot explain what you see neither. On top of it, in the last 2 screenshots, there is also a huge difference in the "Mapped capacity" values. A mystery to me.
