Hi Curtis,

thank you very much for your answer!

To click instead to tab was the solution. Sometimes small things can make a big difference! A typical IT finding, isn't it. ;-)

Best Regards

Olaf

Hi Jon & Curtis,

thank you very much for your answers!

Unfortunately I didn't get along this them. This is what I did ...

- open the Dialog "Menu Position"
- click on the previously generated menu item "Neuer Menüeintrag" and then click the "Edit/Bearbeiten" Button.
- enter the string "SWL TAT-Auswertung ohne Artefakte" as a name of the new menu item.
- hit the Tab key
- click the OK button
Result: "Neuer Menüeintrag" remains as menu name (see screenshot below).

To make it even worse, while strugling around I created a new menu "!Swiss-Spezial_id!". And, sure, I don't mange to get rid of it.

Thanks very much for your support!

Beste Regards

Olaf

p. s.

I fear that I don't use this portal in the right way to react on your answers. Sorry for that.

Hello everyone,
in the dialog builder for extensions, I can't assign a menu name to my dialog box. The name should be "SWL Analysis without Artifacts." SPSS ignores this. Instead it names the menu "New Menu Entry".

I 'm quite desperate about that. Do you have any ideas?

Thanks for your support!

Best regards

Olaf

Hi Olaf, interesting that you should bring these two issues up, as we were working on them this week. The fixes will be in the upcoming Statistics 31.0.1.0 release.

In the meantime, you should be able to commit the edits to the menu items shown in your screen shot by clicking on the area next to the name you are editing instead of pressing tab key to get out of edit mode.

For the second item you mentioned, you can delete the menu item by uninstalling the extension and then restarting Statistics.

Hope this helps and regards,

Curtis

In the CDB with the main dialog showing, click on Menu Location and the box at the end.  You  might have to widen the dialog display to see that box.

Expand the main menu where you want to put the dialog (Custom is often a good choice).  Click Add, which should add a "New Menu Item" entry and put it in edit mode.

Change the name as desired.  Click off the item.  Then you can move it up or down as desired.

Finally, click OK.

The menu subdialog can be a little finicky, so sometimes it takes an extra try or two.

Hi @Olaf Lange. As Jon mentions above, in the Custom Dialog Builder one can edit the menu location and text. In addition to the method he describes for accessing the menu editor, when in the Custom Dialog Builder with your specification loaded, you can also access the menu editor from the Edit Menu there (Edit -> Menu Location).
