 Seperate softfence into different group

Dears,

We have a configuration with production & testing systems in the same DS8910 and with individual GDPS/PPRC Hyperswap in prod & testing systems.

We just wonder if production system hyperswap(plan or unplan) that cause the DS8910 softfence will also affect the testing system ?

We have had multiple production and testing systems in the same DS8950. GDPS HS does not effect the systems. As far as I know, softfence is done on a device level. If you plan to use a part of the devices in an LSS in 1 system and another part in another system, I would expect it to be fine too, but that we did not have. (We only used/shared parts of LSS ranges across unmirrored k-systems.)

We also had DS8910 with multiple sandbox systems. Never seen any impact across systems.

Hi,

GDPS does not effect any device across the systems although they are in the same DS8K box. The only thing you should consider the GEOPARM. If they are completely isolated for Prod and Test systems, then GDPS does not interfere with test system devices when an hyperswap occurs in Prod.
