Is there a way to report on s3 bucket sizes in Cloudability? None of the available metrics - GiB Hours, GiB Months, Usage Quantity, etc. - seem to line up with what reported via the AWS S3 console. Even the sizes in the recommendations section don't appear to match AWS. Due to billing mechanics probably. And I'm probably doing it wrong. Thanks.

Asked the experts 😁 and they said, "The best place to see S3 buckets is the rightsizing tab for details like objects, reads, total storage size, etc.  We aggregate all the data across all accounts there, while AWS makes you look account by account."

Hi @Jeff Hyatt, can you send us a screenshot of what you're seeing?

@Jeff Hyatt, I was able to find an S3 report that someone created in a sandbox, but looks like the columns are what you're probably already using (Resource ID, Account Name, Cost (Total), GiB Hours, Requests, and Data Transfer (GiB)).  Will ask internally.

In terms of things not aligning to AWS, I think you're right - probably billing mechanics.  To drill further, would need to know if there are any discounts applied, what numbers are you seeing in AWS vs what CLDY is showing, are the date ranges the same on both sides, etc.?

I'll send some screenshots through the support channel. the rightsizing numbers for storage size don't match AWS metrics either. Thanks for looking!

Ultimately i'd just like to see Cloudability's best recommendation for a report the displays (accurate) bucket sizes, if possible.

Hey Jeff, also heard there is an inventory reporting beta that will likely be best in understanding bucket sizes if you can get on the beta list - contact your CSM or TAM.  If they need additional info, feel free to have them ping me.
