 RBD 9.X and RTC/EWM

Hopefully this is an acceptable question for this forum. We have multiple instances of RBD that we need to maintain, including RBD 9.6 and 9.7, as well as now IBD 10.

It seems for source control with EWM in IBD 10, EWM 7.1 is the minimal supported level, with 7.2 also being available.

If we upgrade to EWM 7.1 or 7.2, will we still be able to connect with our older RBD 9.6 and 9.7 environments?

Hi Nick

Please contact IBM support to confirm which RTC clients can access EWM. RBD 9.6 and 9.7 are based on old Eclipse (4.6.2 and 4.7.3 respectively) so the available RTC clients may be old as well.

Hi Nick,

IBM did a great job in maintaining downward compatibility from server to client. However new server features will not be accessible through older clients.

So you should be able to upgrade to EWM 7.2, but to make sure... first do it in a test environment to confirm.
