I authored a report that's stored in the Team Content folder structure. Very simple, very vanilla report - doesn't even have a single prompt.
I copied the Share URL (like instructions in section "Sharing assets from the Team content folder" of IBM Cognos Analytics - Reporting Version 11.2 User Guide) and dropped it into a desktop shortcut for testing.
During my own unit testing I was success using either the shortcut or dropping the URL directly into an MS Edge browser from outside of a Cognos Analytics session. The report would render without issue. In fact, testing from a few other servers within the network proved that the URL would launch to and render the report directly - there is no stopping for Windows logins and no stopping for Cognos credentials. (We use SSO obviously.)
My colleagues have Windows credentials that are similar to my own; but, they all have less powerful Cognos authority than I do as I'm an Author and they are all Consumers. However, all of them are generally successful with accessing Cognos and running reports (from Team Content folders).
Yet, none of my colleagues have been successful with the URL that I shared (from step #2 above). All of them run into some kind of situation where they are prompted at least for Cognos credentials. Some are even halted to prompt for Windows credentials for our Cognos server when launching that share URL. No one seems able to have the same success that I have where launching the URL just takes them to the rendered report without interruption.
Silly question - Am I giving my shared URL too much credit for what it can or should be able to do for other users?
Not silly question - Are there any obvious environmental setting I should ask my Information Technology team to check which might impact why I have some a seamless launch experience to the Report but others are interrupted on their journey using the same shared URL?
Thank you,
Ferdinand
