Hello Support - 

In our environment, we have Oracle Exadata platform hosting Oracle Enterprise Linux 8 OS.

According to the supported operating systems, Oracle Enterprise Linux 7, 8 and 9, is supported for both Bigfix Agent and Disconnected Scanner.

However, the below article (kind of old) states that ILMT monitoring is not supported on Oracle Exadata platform.

Support for Oracle Exadata in ILMT for sub-capacity | Integration

The conundrum is that IBM Guardium, per its products docs, can be installed Oracle Exadata servers.

This contradicts the article listed above about no IBM products hosted on Oracle Exadata.

So the question is ... 

Is ILMT monitoring supported on Oracle Exadata platform hosting the Oracle Enterprise Linux 8 operating system to discover IBM Guardium?

Hello,

Oracle ExaData appliance cannot be considered as supported at this point.
I suggest to add a vote to existing RFE:

Thanks for the information and have upvoted the existing RFE.

Seems odd that IBM does not support a platform that could potentially host IBM products, especially from a licensing perspective.

In any case, can you provide or direct us to the location that describes what data we need to gather to create an accurate license report for IBM Guardium being hosted on Oracle Exadata?

We will need this information for our true ups of IBM licenses prior to IBM audits.

I'd say that it's a IBM Licensing/Compliance team which should answer what to do when some appliance is not supported.
