OA66417 offers a Volume Compression Tool as part of an enhancement to the DFSMSdss utility. It is supposed to provide the Customer the capability to determine if zEDC Compression would benefit their installation given the current data image on a volume .... sounds good so far.
However, further down in the OA66417 document, it has the following -
The above paragraph sort of makes sense, but at the moment, our site does not have zEDC licensed. Isn't it counter intuitive to provide an estimation tool to determine the benefits for a product when it requires you to first of all license the product? Or have a misunderstood the above statement?
