Hello Community Members:

I created a forecast report from Cost Transparency as I also needed to include the FTE (Labor) headcount information in the same file as the Financial data.  For month's with no $, the "N/A" value is displayed rather than 0.  How can I get around this as Hyperion cannot consume a value of N/A.  Please refer to the attached for a screenshot of my issue.

Thank you for any insight!!

Hello @Dawn Kassube, Here is the expert view on the query by @Ashish Phule

"Yeah that's how the behavior is. If source has null values then those will be shown as N/A in BI. If customer wish to show up these values as 0 in the BI report, they need to fix their source labor data by replacing null values by 0 and update the report. It should start showing 0 then."

I hope it will help you!

Not surprised by the answer, but  still unsatisfactory. How can we fix future values?

We should be able to customize the report, without having to touch the data.

@Guillermo Cuadrado beat me to it - I must agree.

I very much appreciate that Appto BI distinguishes between "empty" and "zero", as too many tools wrongly assume otherwise; but it would be helpful to have a "show NULL as ..." display option on the fields.  There are other cases where BI's handling of NULL is incomplete, such as Drill Tables.

That said, I'm surprised that Hyperion doesn't an input transformation function that could handle the N/A.

I must go check and ensure I've put in the BI feature requests that match my earlier "BI Beta" feedback items about NULL.

Actually when you export to csv, the N/A are now just blank fields which Hyperion can consume and apply logic to.  It would be nice to simply send the file with no additional logic on their side to change to "0".
