Hi everyone,
I’m a mathematics student and recently started a small personal project involving weather and probability. For this, I would really like to use the **Probabilistic Forecast API** by IBM.
In the documentation, I read:
> “The Probabilistic Forecast API provides a variety of statistical forecast content by generating it on-the-fly using proprietary technology from The Weather Company. This API provides a discretized PDF, and/or probability integrations over specified parameter value ranges…”
This would be perfect for my use case, as I’m trying to analyze how short-term temperature forecasts relate to observed daily highs, and eventually train a machine learning model to estimate the probability that the temperature falls into a specific range.
However, I couldn't find the **Environmental Intelligence Suite** or the Probabilistic Forecast API in the IBM Cloud catalog, and I’m not sure how to request access.
Could anyone help me with:
1. How to get access to the Probabilistic Forecast API
2. Whether there’s a free or preview plan for student/research use
3. How to get an API key and documentation for this service
Thanks a lot in advance, and sorry if this is not the right group — feel free to redirect me if needed!
Best regards,
Felix
