 LaunchAnywhere: Could not find a valid Java Virtual Machine to load.

Hi,

When I try to open LicenseWizardActivator, I get the following message: "LaunchAnywhere: Could not find a valid Java Virtual Machine to load. You may need to reinstall a supported Java Virtual Machine". But when I run IBM SPSS Modeler as an administrator, the licensing window appears. After entering the codes, it shows that the program will work at the next launch. But it doesn’t — the loading spinner appears for a moment and then nothing happens. I reinstalled IBM SPSS Modeler 18.6 twice, but the problem persists. Additional when I run IBM SPSS Modeler as an administrator, the licensing window appears.  I also tried replacing startup.jar (IF001), but it didn’t help. The same thing happens on four different computers, while my colleagues don’t have this issue. Where is the problem?

  • IBM SPSS Modeler 18.6 (MOP2HML - IBM SPSS Modeler Client 64-bit 18.6 Microsoft Windows Multilingual)
  • System: Windows 11 Pro 23H2
    Java version: 1.8.0_471 (64-bit)

Hello everyone.

Has anyone had a similar situation and could give me some guidance?
Next week I’m starting classes with students. The students already have IBM SkillBuild accounts, but I can’t launch the creator due to a Java error. Alternatively, is there a chance for the students to obtain an activation code for version 18.5? This version works correctly.
