Are many users using a landing/home page with the Apex Design and Navigation?

Do users find switching between modules difficult?  Our users are finding it difficult to remember to switch between modules e.g. BoIT/CT and End User Insights and Telco Insights.      What is the advice to create a home page with links to the key report collections?

I didn't even know there existed something called Apex Design & Navigation, @Heather stewart ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€‹โ€‹
What I'd do is creating a landing page in CT (my main area of expertise) with buttons linked to the specific URLs, even pointing to other Apptio modules.
We have done it for report collections inside CT and it works well:

See that we have replaced most of Apptio's OOTB reports with our own set. I haven't tested it, but I guess it would work if I had other non-CT URLs.

It definitely works with HTML components: we have created a master report that looks like this:

  • The Contact the TBM Office hyperlink opens the default mail client with a few fields thrown in
  • The TPE Cost Model Documentation link takes the user to our database of how-to articles
  • We have replicated Apptio's home button to return to the above landing page

If somebody knows more about that Apex designer thing, please let me know!

Hi Heaher,

I browsed some discussion groups but I couldn't find an advice to your question.
I mention here @Logan Campbell, maybe she can find an answer

Hi @Heather stewart,
Are you referring to the fact that you have to go back to the App Launcher to navigate between Apptio Products?  When you say Modules, do you mean like Plan, Cost, Billing etc?

If so, stay tuned.  Our P&E folks are working hard to really unify the ApptioOne capabilities into one user interfaceโ€‹.  Coming soon!

I'm going to go ahead and close this out since we haven't heard back in a while @Heather stewart.  If either Guillermo's suggestion or my questions weren't what you were going for, please feel free to post again and we'll try to get you an answer.โ€‹โ€‹
