 ITX 11.0.X Upgrade Compatibility Issue with SB2Bi 6.2.0.X – Looking for Guidance

Hi Community,

We're currently planning an upgrade and would like to share a challenge we're facing—hopefully some of you have encountered something similar.

As you may know, IBM Sterling Transformation Extender (ITX) 10.1.x will reach End of Support (EOS) on April 30, 2026. To prepare, we’re planning to upgrade our environment.

Current setup (AS-IS):

  • SB2Bi: 6.2.0.4

  • ITX: 10.1.1.1

Target setup (TO-BE):

  • SB2Bi: 6.2.1

  • ITX: 11.0.1.x

Here’s the issue: according to IBM's compatibility matrix, ITX 11.0.1.x requires at least SB2Bi 6.2.1. That creates a catch:

  • If we upgrade ITX first, it won’t work with SB2Bi 6.2.0.4

  • If we upgrade SB2Bi first, it won’t work with ITX 10.1.1.1

Right now, the only feasible path seems to be upgrading both components at the same time.

Has anyone faced this same situation?
How did you handle the upgrade path?
Is there any known workaround or intermediate fix? Maybe IBM generates a new fix pack (e.g. SB2Bi 6.2.0.6 fix pack) that would support compatibility with both ITX 10.1.x and 11.0.1.x?

Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated.
