Watson TTS/STT is tightly integrated with the platform, and the use of ADK or Developer Edition is generally required for custom voice settings. Direct integration of third-party TTS/STT services into the standard watsonx Orchestrate environment isn’t fully supported yet. However, it’s always worth checking with IBM's latest updates or their support team for any workarounds or updates to the roadmap. Integrating external TTS/STT could certainly enhance the flexibility, so I’d recommend keeping an eye on future platform enhancements from here.
