Hello, I installed a stand-alone computer with a LAN console and IBM i running 7.4. RESAVE Q.When I tried to perform an IPL on D with a USB drive, the SRC froze at C2003160. This had happened to me before, and I used a 3.2 USB drive that I'd used before. This time, it didn't work. I used the DVD to perform an IPL on D, which returned SRC B2006110. When I tried to do it with an LTO7 tape, it returned code B2003110. I entered ASMI and forced the IPL to run on P0 T18. It didn't work. I forced the IPL to run on P0 C08, where the tape card was. That's when it started working correctly, no longer having any issues.What happened? Would it be advisable to file a support report with IBM?Regards.
1) Try with an old USB key
2) Try with a virtual HMC to set the right alternate IPL device
3) Is the USB DVD device an IBM branded system?

I had several various issues D-IPLing V7R4 in the last few months.
All were related to defects and PTF, for example: https://www.ibm.com/mysupport/s/defect/aCIKe000000XoG0OAK/dt417688?language=en_US.I was able to solve these problems with the help of IBM support. So, if you can reproduce, I think it's worth opening a case.
