 IBM Spectrum Control not getting performance data since 31st Dec 2024

Hi,

We have Spectrum Control trapping performance data against a number of IBM only storage arrays which stopped performance data gathering Dec 31st 2024 @ 23:58. Error message:

HWNPM4302E - New performance data is not yet available for the device. Statistics with time stamps later than could not be found

We have two environments, two instances of SC, both have had the same issue. One of them also traps stats from IBM Brocade directors, that's working fine, it's only the storage which won't trap stats.

I found on a Google search what I thought would be the answer on the support pages:

Performance collection fails for Storage Virtualize devices ...

11 hours ago — Performance data on IBM Spectrum Control is not available for any of IBM Storage Virtualize system after December 31st 2024. There will be a gap ...

But this links goes to IBM site as not found! For two environments to fail on just the IBM Storage, which comprises of SVC, v7k, v5k, FS7200/7300, it's weird they both went as the new year came across. Anyone have any ideas what's wrong? Our SC is v5.4.12.0 by the way. We can only use SC, not Insights.

Hi Andy, the correct link to this page would be:

Removing the trailing "https://www.ibm.[…].hwnpm4302ehwnpm2103w-0" removed made the link work.

According to this document, a fix shall be delivered with SC 5.4.12.1

Hi Andy,

But we are using Storage Insights using Call Home instead Data Collector and my 7300 performance data fixed automatically yesterday. Few of my clients uses Data Collector and we updated them to fix the issue. Now everything works fine. For SC, it's better to open a case.

Many thanks Christian and Nezih, interesting to see the issue affected both Control and Insights. 

We'll download the Control patch fix and hopefully get our performance monitoring working again soon.
