Hello,

I am reaching out to check if your Application named: IBM App Connect Enterprise comes with included commercial use right of Oracle Java.

Specifically, we want to know if there is an existing agreement between IBM & Oracle that includes the necessary Oracle Java licensing and that end users of IBM App Connect Enterprise do not need to ensure separately necessary commercial Oracle Java licenses when this is used only in conjunction with IBM App Connect Enterprise.

If such an agreement does not exist, we will need you to let us know what is your approved Open JDK alternative (version & build if applicable).

Thanks!

App Connect Enterprise comes with it's own version of IBM Java. Look in the commons directory of the software...

Hope that will cater to your needs...

Hello,

Thank you for confirming that App Connect Enterprise comes with it's own version of IBM Java and not using Oracle Java.

I have checked the Java version on my devices and i am adding it below.

Can you please check and confirm that these are the versions of IBM Java for App Connect Enterprise as I am not finding this information for the below versions on the IBM website?

 Device 1:

„1.8.0_461“ Java (TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (IBM build 1.8.0_461-b11 01_Jul_2025_04_37 Mac OS X x64 (SR8 FP50)

Java HotSpot (TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.461-b11, mixed mode)

 Device 2:

„1.8.0_451“ Java (TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (IBM build 1.8.0_451-b10 28_Apr_2025_06_26 Mac OS X x64 (SR8 FP45)

Java HotSpot (TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.451-b10, mixed mode)

 Highly appreciate your confirmation!

Hi,
The answer depends on which released version of App Connect Enterprise is being considered (on any given machine you are permitted to install multiple ACE versions alongside one another). The IBM Support page for each ACE release includes a section called "Embedded components and versions included in this release" which has a table that includes a row for the Java SE Runtime Environment. For example for ACE 13.0.6.0 (the latest version of ACE), the support page is here: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/7254724 and the Java versions are 17.0.17.0 and 8.0.8.55.

Cheers, Ben
