Hi everyone,

I’m currently working on an infrastructure setup that uses IBM Cloud services alongside on-prem servers. As the number of workloads grows, I’ve noticed performance inconsistencies, especially during peak times. It’s challenging to balance resource allocation without over-provisioning and driving up costs.

For those of you with experience managing hybrid cloud systems, what are your go-to strategies or tools for monitoring and optimizing performance? Do you rely on IBM-specific tooling, custom metrics, or third-party solutions? Any real-world approaches that helped you stabilize hybrid environments would be super helpful.

Just to add to my original question, I’ve been exploring different approaches around workload distribution and consistency across environments. One thing that stands out is how important it is to treat hybrid setups as a single system rather than separate pieces.

From what I’ve seen, hybrid cloud works best when workloads are designed to be portable and consistent across environments, instead of tightly coupled to one infrastructure layer.

Interestingly, this challenge feels quite similar to structured systems like bookkeeping, where maintaining consistency and traceability across multiple entries is critical to avoid mismatches over time. Whether it's infrastructure workloads or financial records, the principle of keeping everything aligned and well-structured seems to be the same.

I came across a simple breakdown that explains how structured systems help keep operations organized, which connects to this idea. Curious if others here also think in terms of system consistency when designing hybrid environments, or if you rely more on tooling and monitoring layers.
