Hi,

I am analyzing survey data.

The first question asks:

"Who were the three main instructors you were trained by?"

there is a list of 20 instructors to select from

Participants can select up to three choices .

The second question asks:

"Please rate your instructor based on the following"

a. is very knowledgeable about the sport, activities, techniques, and strategies

b. is well-prepared and organized for the practices.

c. is effective in communicating with me.

d. ......

in total, there are 10 statements and the response scale is "strongly disagree" to "disagree"

I need to get the percentages for each of the statements under the second question for each of the instructors selected under the first question above.

I mean, I need to know what percentage of people who selected the fist instructor agreed that the instructor was knowledge able about sports, or was well-prepared, or was effective in communicating,...

I am not sure what analysis to use.

Please share your thoughts.

Best,

Raheleh

First, the three variables for instructor identifiers should be defined as a multiple category set (Analyze > Tables > Mutiple Response Sets).  That lets you do counts and such for instructors, but for the second question, what structure do you have for the instructor ratings?  Do you have three sets of rating variables.  If not, how do you know which instructors the answers apply to?
