 Export not working on MacBook

I have a user working on a Mac trying to download a report table. Is there a setting on a MacBook to allow the export function (Open in Excel) to work?

Hi @Michael Wiemers,

Which web browser is your user using? 

Below are a few things to check:

  • I had to enable pop-ups in order for PDF downloads to work 
  • If your user is using Chrome, check to see if the download location settings look okay
    • Chrome > Settings > Advanced > Downloads.
  • Ensure your user has the correct permissions in Apptio
    • In role details, there should be "CanExportExcel", "CanExportPDF",etc.

Hi Michael,
Which Apptio Product(s) are they using?  Since some of our products come through acquisition, they are not all built on the same platform, so different products may behave differently.  I got your pm response about the browsers but I also need to know which Apptio product or products they are using so I can follow up with the right folks.

Not sure what you're looking for. I guess I don't refer to what he's working in as one of Apptio's products. It's just Apptio.

Does "Apptio R12 / Cost Transparency" help??

Yes, that's  what I need.  Apptio has multiple products including Cost Transparency & IT Planning(which are being unified as ApptioOne), Apptio Cloudability, Apptio Targetprocess. 

Cost Transparency tells me which team to ask since I'm not able to test on a mac.

I just logged on to CT on my Mac (MacOS Big Sur 11.6) with my Admin userid using Chrome build 96,0.4664.93. I was able to download the tables in a report taken at random with no problems, exactly the same way I did on my regular Windows 10 desktop.
I hadn't used the Mac for a while, so I'm upgrading Chrome to build 99.something and MacOS to Monterey 12.2.1 and will repeat the test.

I repeated the test on MacOS Monterey 12.2.1 and Chrome build 99.0.4844.51 and the export to Excel worked fine like before.
