I will caveat this with I don't know anything about the internal configurations of a DPOD server vs. I'm a partner who has a customer with a question that they came to me with. They have a DPOD cell environment with 4 servers but even with 9 x 6.4TB drives per server, they can only store 30 days of logs/transactions. Their requirement is 180 days.
Their data center has multiple Pure storage arrays connected via 32G Fibre Channel. Can we install an HBA into each server and present storage from the Pure to them? The storage would just show up as another disk to the OS for the server to use, but can the servers be configured to write the logs/transactions to this drive that would have the capacity to store 180 days of data?
I searched and don't see anything other than a reference to AWS which to me, is using external storage. But I wanted to see if anyone has experience doing the above with Pure or another external storage array. Thank you in advance
From the DPOD documentation:
- On AWS, DPOD was providing the expected performance with an EBS
gp3 volume with 16,000 IOPS and 1,000 MB/s throughput.
