Hi,

is Db2 Intelligence Center free for Db2 license owners like Db2 Management Console and Data Server Manager was?

Hello Gerald,

Unfortunately Db2 Intelligence Center is not free, and it requires a license after the 30 days trial.

You will need to contact your IBM Sales Representative for additional license information.

not good. I assume Db2 Management Console is still supported but no future development?

Hello Gerald,

Yes, that's correct.   DMC is still supported but we are not investing in new features for the product, and fixes might take longer than normal as we need management approval to fix critical issues.

But we are actively investing in Db2IC, new features such as:

  • Database Assistant (watson.x)
  • Query Tuning, we now have what-if and impact analysis reports
  • MFA support
  • Vault for encryption
  • Database Backup monitoring
  • Drill down from graphs for faster investigation
  • Configuration parameters monitoring
  • Metrics graph comparison among several database
  • Replication sets
  • etc.

We have several new improvements in the roadmap as well.
