 Datacap - Accusoft.ScanFixXpress8.Net Error during Image Enhancement

Hi All,

Has anybody seen this error before?

When processing a batch (whether in Rulerunner or in DStudio), in the Image Enhancement ruleset, the batch aborts with this error in the RRS Log:

In DStudio, Test tab the abort message is:

Interestingly, I noticed the same message displayed in the base of the Image Enhancement window, having opened an Image File:

The article dates from Datacap 8.0.1 so I located an SSM file in:

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Temp\2\Accusoft\{79C2CA24-1F1A-42d5-BF4B-EC8EFE7B8295}

I deleted this file as suggested by the article but it makes no difference - the aborts continue.

Has anybody else seen this and if so, how did you resolve it?

I just realised that some of the screenshots don't display very well in the notification email. Here's the text from the error message in the RRS Log:

Error: Accusoft.ScanFixXpress8.Net
Description: Unable to load DLL 'Accusoft.ScanFixXpress8.Common.8.0.1.34.ssm': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)
Error code: 0x80131524 - (null)Source: (null)
Line: 49, Char: 4 [api source:]

And here's the text of the error that appears in the base of the Image Enhancement Window:

batches\20250929.000006\01010000.tif Could not load file or assembly 'Accusoft.ScanFixXpress8.Net, Version=8.1.0.11, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=80d669b8b606a2da' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Not sure if this helps.  Are you using newer Datacap version?

Have you run the OCR updates.exe also?  As I recall if you don't add the email and fax connector during installation it will not install the convert library which could impact some dll missing.   You can try to copy the dll from a working system and re-registry it but not sure if there's any dependencies.

Hi Duke,

Thanks for your response. I was using Datacap 9.1.9 iFix05. I've installed iFix07 including the OCR Update and it now seems to run ok. Although that exact error does not appear in the Release Notes for IFix07, there are a couple of entries for the ImageEnhance action in iFix06 and 07:

I believe this particular issue was fixed at the same time.
