Hi all,

I’m currently working with several clients in the logistics sector and would like to better understand how Envizi can support this type of use case.

Specifically, I would like to know if the platform can generate consolidated reports that include monthly CO₂e emissions per client or operation.

My goal is to provide my clients with clear visibility into the emissions associated with transportation and warehousing services contracted by each of their customers.

I would appreciate your guidance on these capabilities or any relevant materials/documentation you could share.

Thanks!

Hi Thais,

This is a really interesting question and the answer is 'it's possible but it depends'.  Envizi is fantastic at consolidation reporting across a group but the ability to do this depends on the structure you configure within Envizi and the associated meta data you capture with the records you capture to address you individual reporting needs.  In it's most basic form you would have a location hierarchy (say warehouse A and Warehouse B).  You then capture the relevant metrics under accounts for each location (an Account is a place to record a specific record type at a specific location) .  Multiple accounts in one location capture different inputs like power (KWh), Transportation (Tonne/KM) for transportation and the various emissions factors then normalise the data across the accounts for reporting.

You could set up an individual location for each customer under each warehouse for each customer (Ex Warehouse A, Customer 1 Warehouse A Customer 2 etc but this would generate a lot of accounts adding some complexity.  You would also need to consider if you bring goods in on one truck and then distribute goods out to customers individually (eg one truck in, n trucks out) how can you split the inbound between 2 or more customers?

There are also other ways this could be achieved such as tags, virtual accounts, I like to bring this back to what the business driver is and what the ideal outputs are, how precise do the calculations need to be, can the space occupied/% of transportation movements by the customers be used to apportion?.  Technically I believe what you are asking can be achieved in Envizi but ascertaining the best way to achieve this outcome while minimise the ongoing effort that the extra level would incorporate would be key to providing a succinct answer to the question.
