 Clarification on ILMT LDAP & SSO User Management

Hi there,

I'm currently configuring LDAP authentication in IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT) 9.2. According to the documentation (https://www.ibm.com/docs/es/license-metric-tool/9.2.0?topic=ldap-linking-users-directories), it seems that even when LDAP is enabled, we must manually create each user under Management > Users, ensuring that the username matches the LDAP account exactly.

I would like to confirm the following points:

  1. Is it mandatory to manually create each user in ILMT even if LDAP authentication is configured?

  2. If we implement Single Sign-On (SSO), do we still need to manually create the user in ILMT beforehand?

  3. Is there any way to automate user creation or synchronization from LDAP?

Hello,


it's mandatory to manually create each user in ILMT if LDAP or SSO authentication is used unless User provisioning feature is configured.
If User provisioning is being used each user is created in License Metric Tool after you log in to the application with that user.
The user is assigned a role that is defined in user provisioning.
