That sounds frustrating! I can see why you have this question.
It's my understanding that in this context the process to resolve the EDG2105E in an environment like yours would be closer to:
- Quiesce RMM on all systems that share the CDS
- Run EDGHSKP(BACKUP) on the main system where the CDS and journal are stored
- Restart RMM on the main system where the CDS and journal are stored
- Restart RMM on all other systems
