Since the RANK() function in not available in Apptio, is there any alternate function we can use?
If anyone has implemented the RANK functionality, can you please reply.

I found the below archived idea by @Jaitabh Jewel Sharma, so wanted to check the status on this as well.

Hi @Saaraunsh Rege!  Are you looking to do the ranking in a table or within a report?  I ask because there may be a way to do it in a table but not seeing a way to do it in a report yet.

Hi @Jenny Franklin,
Yes, I want to implement this in a table. Thanks in advance :)

@Jenny Franklin Apologies I got that wrong. I initially thought I can implement this in the table that we use to build the report, but later realized we want the ranking based on cost and the report uses the cost metric, and not any table column.

By any chance, can we add a column to the table and get the Cost metric value assigned to that column. If yes, I can still use the above solution.

Hi @Saaraunsh Rege, it's probably a bit convoluted but thinking you could create a report that shows the cost data, create a Copy Table connector to push the report contents back to a table, and then use that table to create the ranking based on the previous post.

Thank you @Jenny Franklin :)
If that is the only solution, then we will try to see the priority and the alternatives, and then make the call.

Thanks again!

Hi @Saaraunsh Rege, so sorry I couldn't have helped more and that there isn't an easier solution available (that I know of anyway).  I would create a new enhancement/idea for the Rank function and reference the archived one that JJ had originally created (Unique ID: 7128975a-b44b-4cbd-ad93-460caabe8bc7).  I'm asking you to do this only because it packs more of a punch if a customer submits it. πŸ˜‰ Then post the link to the new idea in a status update here on Community because I've seen others ask about this as well.  I'll also share it internally to increase votes because I've also seen folks asking internally.  Thank you!! πŸ™

Hi @Jenny Franklin, in fact you helped a lot. I suggested this approach to my team and we actually did implement at the table level :)

Special thanks to @Chris Davidson and @Doug Silk :)
