 AIX Toolbox for Open Source Software: How to add missing programs

Is there a procedure to do so? Would this be done by IBM?

Are existing RPMSPEC files (Fedora, which builds for PPC64 on Linux) useful?

Only the AIX Toolbox Open Source IBM Team can add content.

However:

  1. You can make suggestions to the team on this Forum.
  2. This helps the team work out priorities. You might then find your hot suggestion is already on the list for future release.
  3. You can also offer files that might assist the team.

Note:

  1. The team has limited resources, and there is an infinite number of open source packages, so not every suggestion is accepted.
  2. Some packages have odd copyright or legal restrictions, so they can't be included.

You could always approach the Open Source developers to ask them to make a ppc64le release.

If you a desperate for a particular package, you can always compile it yourself.
