  • 1.  Tiebreak max distance from PowerHA nodes?

    Posted Wed August 21, 2024 04:50 AM

    Hi,

Is there some recommendation / limitation how far (latency and/or geographically wise) can Tiebreaker (SCSI) disk reside from PowerHA clusternode location(s) ?

Setup would be standard 2 node PowerHA AIX cluster, AIX nodes located in 2 different physical locations, relatively close to each other...but then there would be 3rd site (witness) for Quorum/Tiebreaker etc storage ..and wondering if there is some guidance / rule of thumb for that (3rd site distance) related to other 2 sites

    Br,

    tommi

I don't recall any specific targets, but:
    - Stay away from iSCSI
    - As long as fiberchannel works, it seems to work.
