I don't know how automated the SSIC validation is, but for every "new" thing, SSIC has thousands of combinations to validate.
Try with 7.3 or 7.3 TL 1, and if it's there, just submit a request to get that combo revalidated with 7.3 TL 2.

The funny thing is, I haven't even gotten to the point where I choose fiber or SAS as connection protocol. I've only specified the server and the OS level.

seems direction from IBM is very clear, No SAS for Power servers. Tape must be connected via FC link through SAN switch now.

Subject: SSIC, Power10, AIX, and LTO tape options
In SSIC (https://www.ibm.com/systems/support/storage/ssic/interoperability), I've selected "Host Platform=IBM Power Systems (p6 and newer)", and "Server Model=IBM POWER10 Servers", and "Operating System=IBM AIX 7.3 TL2". Now, when I select "Storage Family", no LTO tape options appear whatsoever. What should I make of this? Does a Power10-based system running AIX 7.3 TL2 not have any support for LTO at all?
How do we go about supporting LTO options (e.g., LTO 9) on Power10 machines?
