Was told this would absolutely work so that when it didn't I could only believe that we have missed a step in the configuration. I agree with you though , that the PowerVC node would not have the ppc64le packages on board to deploy to the backup node.

So that begs the question , if we loaded those files manually or added them in a location that PowerVC could access when creating the backup node , would that work ?

I haven't tested it yet but I don't think the installation will work.
It will trigger an installation from the PowerVC Master.
From there the packages are copied to the backup node.
If the master is an x86 node it probably only has the packages for x86 and unfortunately no ppc64le packages.
But in any case it is worth an IBM idea.

Trying to clarify if this can be in a "mixed" environment. Where PowerVC instances would be on X86 ( no fibre connectivity) and the backup node would be on Linux on Power with fibre connectivity.
