    pigz (parallel implementation of gzip) version 2.4 is now available in AIX Toolbox.
    https://public.dhe.ibm.com/aix/freeSoftware/aixtoolbox/RPMS/ppc/pigz/pigz-2.4-1.aix6.1.ppc.rpm
    One can also use yum to install it.

    It is built with the library search path set as "/usr/opt/zlibNX/lib:/opt/freeware/lib:/usr/lib" to take advantage of hardware accelerated zlibNX library (if present). https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/ssw_aix_72/performance/zlibNX.html
