    Greetings to the whole community.

I am writing to ask if any of you can share the ISO of AIX 7.3 for X86, I need to do some tests for educational purposes.
I will be grateful for your kindness and support.

AIX hasn't run on x86 Natively since version 1.3.  I've played with it in a VM and it's pretty useless nowadays and just a novelty.

It IS possible to run the PPC version of AIX through qemu.  It will be excruciating slow, almost to the point where it's unusable, and I'm not sure if AIX 7.3 will work through it.

So, you still have a virtualization system that can support AIX 7 as a guest.

I worry about the legality of just giving someone the ISO like that.

Have you considered a small PowerVS VPS?

I understand, but as I indicated initially, I need it for educational purposes, I am trained to take the exams, I want to do tests on my equipment that I have, it is not easy to find a Power anywhere. It is because I am in the community to contribute and receive help. I ask with the permission and consent of you who are members of the community.
I'm still fighting and looking for options.
Thank you, your comments clear up my doubts.

You are right, Anthony. It would definitely be a violation of license agreements.

Sorry Paul... but AIX can't run over x86 processors.

It uses IBM Power processors, which have different technology (RISC VS CISC).

Maybe you can get AIX ISOs images but you won't use them natively on your PC.

I know there is over there a PowerPC processor Emulator over x86 (PearPC or QEMU) but are so limited.

Maybe you can be able to run AIX on it, but so so so slow... and surely not 7.3 version.

In addition to the other responses, AIX is a licensed, priced product, so operating system ISOs are not freely given away.

Since you mentioned education, you may want to check in with the IBM Academic Initiative: https://www.ibm.com/academic/home

(don't know if AIX is part of it or not nowadays ... sorry)

Licensed users will not be able to provide ISO images to you. Furthermore, AIX 72/73 will not run on x86.

You could check with the IBM Cloud, to see if this offering includes AIX.
See the Free Tier offering: https://www.ibm.com/cloud/free  I could not determine the OS options for this tier.

Otherwise you can create a 73 VM on the cloud.
    https://cloud.ibm.com/catalog/services/power-systems-virtual-server

Select the "Let's Talk" button on either of those pages, to learn about the offerings.

I don't believe the OP intent is to run a real workload so AIX in the cloud doesn't suit his need.  He is merely trying to get AIX to work in an emulated environment for educational / entertainment purposes. I know others have tried and it's always been interesting (to me) to see how well it works.  But the use of a real AIX environment is not his goal.

    Hi Paul,

One possible route is to use IBM Technology Zone, used to be IBM PDP, https://www.ibm.com/partnerworld/systems/power/cecc-overview
Quick glance suggest that your IBM ID has to have sufficient privileges.

Tech Zone offers a secure remote access infrastructure that enables Business Partners & ISVs with an environment to develop & test their applications on IBM hardware & middleware, in the same manner as if they had loaner machines in their own office.

I've personally used PDP, but I haven't used the IBM Technology Zone personally.
