    Interesting thought.

I, myself, have only seen mention of RHEL support, but not of SLES.

    Hi @Carlo Castillo & @Patrick Hügli

We have this server YES certified at SuSE's bulletin board yesterday for SLES 15 SP6.
    https://www.suse.com/nbswebapp/yesBulletin.jsp?bulletinNumber=153579
Let me see what I can do to get this support updated on https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/linux-on-systems?topic=lpo-linux-distributions-virtualization-options-power10-linux-power-servers

    With regards,

    Naveed

    Hello Robert,

Thanks. But i don't see if SUSE SLES 15 is mentioned as supported LPAR with IBM Power S1012.

    Am i missing something here?

Yes, you are missing something here:  "SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP3, any subsequent SLES 15 updates".

It has the S1012 there.  It mentions what flavors of Linux are supported on it.  SLES 15 is not one of them.

I have asked the ID team to update the documentation at https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/linux-on-systems?topic=lpo-linux-distributions-virtualization-options-power10-linux-power-servers. You should see the support statement for SLES 15 SP6 on the IBM Power S1012 soon.

In the meantime, we published SuSE's YES certification bulletin for SLES 15 SP6 on the IBM Power S1012 at https://www.suse.com/nbswebapp/yesBulletin.jsp?bulletinNumber=153579.

SLES 15 SP6 support on S1012 was recently added. In fact the SUSE Yes certification statement was published (just Yesterday)  at https://www.suse.com/nbswebapp/yesBulletin.jsp?bulletinNumber=153579.

Corresponding IBM documentation is in the process of being updated to reflect this.

    Thank you @SACHIN SANT

I have been trying to post this since this morning, but my posts are being moderated. Here is the updated link: https://www.suse.com/nbswebapp/yesBulletin.jsp?bulletinNumber=153579 (without the period at the end).

I have already contacted the ID team to update the IBM documentation at https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/linux-on-systems?topic=lpo-linux-distributions-virtualization-options-power10-linux-power-servers  You should see an update within two working days.

Hello Daniel - Had the privilege of meeting you in person in Milan. I could not ask the question then but always thought that this is one of the best suited server size for bringing in preloaded applications for specific businesses and make the server transparent. For example, healthcare packages, SAP or accounting applications to name a few, and especially Rent them making them an OPEX operations expense instead of the CAPEX making it easier on company budgets. Simultaneously, with its sustainability aspect reducing electrical consumption, space, and moreover emphasizing the AI and analytics part, making these 3 as the irresistible success factors.

Ranga, thanks for sharing these ideas! We're actually working on a lot of what you mentioned-mainly the AI and analytics part of it. Your feedback reinforces our direction, and we look forward to delivering solutions hopefully soon!
