  • 1.  IBM S822 ASMI Password Lost, How do I reset it?

    Iv tried every password i Remember and still failed to Login, and Its keep saying User Account is Locked Please try after 5Minutes

    Can someone Help me Out with this situation? is IBM support for temp password to login to ASMI the only option to Fix this issue?

    EDIT: simple. the password was resettable via the Control Panel on the Front of the Server

    Hello, 

    If the server is under maintenance, IBM can help you reset the ASMI password via a celogin account.

    disclaimer: I can't be held responsible for any direct or indirect material or human damage, loss of data, etc. linked to this manipulation. Remember to back up your data! 

    But if you don't have any maintenance, you can try this manipulation on the FSP card.

    Shut down your server and unplug it,

    Locate the FSP card and, if possible, disconnect it from your server. On this card you should see two small switches side by side. move the two switches in the opposite direction with a pin. you don't need to reposition them to their starting position.

    Reconnect the card, reconnect your server so that it initialises, retrieve the ip addresses from the panel (option 30). Test access with default identifiers.

    I've used this method successfully on Power 5 and Power 9.

    I've just did this on a S821. The tricky part is to find where the DIP switches are since this changes from model to model. Thanks heaps.

    Option 30 in the control panel is only to show what the current IP address to connect to the ASMI. You need use Option 02 to change the panel mode from Normal (01 N) to Manual (01 M) first. After that, Option 30 will be enabled.

    You will see " 30 ** " in the Control Panel, just hit the arrows up or down to flip between " 30 01 " or " 30 02 " which corresponds to ports HMC1 and HMC2 (or HMC0 and HMC1 depending on the machine model).
