  • 1.  How to get the AIX 7.1 OS image?

    Hi,

    I cannot find the AIX 7.1 OS images from the IBM website.

    Do I need to purchase a license first to download the image of AIX 7.1 for installation and trial?

    AIX is licensed to each Power machine, you can download it from ESS (Entitled Systems Support - https://www.ibm.com/servers/eserver/ess/ProtectedServlet.wss), however a couple of things have to be in place:

    • You have to register your machine machine type and serial number on ESS.
    • You may need to have an active support contract.
    • EOM/EOS versions may no longer be available for download.
