  • 1.  HMC and Servers' SP via routable IPs

    Hi, 

    Most of Power Servers users had their server SPs connected to HMC via private network. Does anyone know of any customers who connected them via routable IPs, ie. both SPs and HMC are on different subnet. Appreciate if you can let me know.

    Hi Shawn,

    we have used a remote vHMC using a VPN, but it is not an ideal scenario. I think it depends on the resources/features you need from the HMC and how stable is your networking (VPN is not the same as local networking).

    ie: For remote install services you need to be on the same subnet, but all other features can be performed remotely or from a different subnet
