Problem: Extra messages are observed in PowerHA GUI dependencies installation

Description:

Observed extra messages in PowerHA GUI dependencies installation for configuring GUI Server and noticed these messages in console log.

Please check highlighted messages in below console log.

Warning: "/usr/es/sbin/cluster/ui/lib" does not exist. Creating...

"/usr/es/sbin/cluster/ui/lib" has been created.

    Attempting to install info-6.4-1...

        Please check that /etc/info-dir does exist.

        You might have to rename it from /etc/info-dir.rpmsave to /etc/info-dir.

Attempting to start the server...

The server was successfully started.

The installation completed successfully. To use the PowerHA SystemMirror GUI,

open a web browser and enter the following URL:

    https://IP_Address/#/login

After you log in, you can add existing clusters in your environment to the

PowerHA SystemMirror GUI.

Suspected component: AIX

Please find the analysis below.

Issue is not reproducible on AIX73_TL1_SP2_2309A_73B and AIX73_TL2_SP0_2308A_73D but is reproducible on AIX73_TL1_SP1_2246_73B_GOLD.

So this is a difference in AIX builds.

The messages observed on the console are general informational messages rather than error/failure messages and do not impact the functioning of the GUI server. Moreover, the GUI server is started successfully. Even after the appearance of these info messages the rpm packages installation are successful as visible below and the user is not blocked.

Seems like these are AIX handled messages while installing rpm packages and GUI does not have any role in this.

Checked that for some of the IBM articles they are getting the same messages for various rpm installation and as per my understanding there is no dependency on PowerHA.

Raised AIX defect : 1167462

Defect owner has returned the defect with below response.

This is related to information while rpm package installation. 

They are precautionary messages to warn users about presence of /etc/info-dir directory.

All this open source stuff are part of AIX tool box packages and are not supported.

This should be handled through AIX opensource forum.
