After installing either openssl-1.1.1.2400 or openssl-1.1.2.2400, when I run lslpp -L to check the version, it reports out as 3.0.10.1001. Is this intentional? If so, it's very confusing. BTW I'm installing on AIX 7.2 TL05 SP7.

    Steve,

SP7 includes Openssl v3. I'm having to do extra planning around
that. Where did you get your two v1 versions from?

I suspect that you are trying to do a downgrade of openssl version from 3.0 to 1.1.1 version, so the installation may not have succeeded. Is there a reason for downgrading the version ?

In any case, if you wish to downgrade to 1.1.1.2400 or 1.1.2.2400 then you will need to do a force install (-F option).

    Thanks

    Steve,

This is normal for 7.2 TL5 SP7.  Openssl 3.x is newer, why are you wanting to run an older out of date version?  You'd have for force install the older version.

Thanks for the replies; I was not clear that OpenSSL 3.x was included with SP7. I'm good to go.
