Power Systems do not now support a VGA or HDMI screen/monitor.

If you have a HMC you can get to the text-based console.

For AIX: If you want a graphical interface, install tightvnc-server package from https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/aix-toolbox-open-source-software-downloads-alpha. then use the VNC client on your laptop for the full "X Windows" experience.  I do it this way, every day.

You might want to peruse the following:
    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/power8/8284-22A?topic=s822-installing-configuring-managing-consoles-terminals-interfaces
I've always used an HMC to be a console.  Currently we use a vHMC under vmware.
I know there are other types of consoles, like Lan Console for example.  But I'm more of an IBM i than 'x guy.
But a Power system is not to be confused with a PC.  You do not directly attach monitors, keyboards and mice.
