  • 1.  Anyone Testing VIOS 3.1.4.21 And Using Shared Storage Pools?

    Posted Tue July 18, 2023 01:36 PM

We started upgrading our Lab with VIOS 3.1.4.21(from VIOS 3.1.3.21) and are seeing issues with the VIOS being able to mount the repository directory after the reboot if the VIOS is using an Ether Channel or SEA as it's service adapter.  The VIOS will join the Cluster, but won't mount the Pool...stopping the Cluster on the VIOS becomes an issue also at this point.  Once we move the service IP to an SR-IOV Logical Port the VIOS is able to mount the Pool and functions normal.  If we reload the VIOS with the 3.1.3.21 mksysb backup, the issue goes away.

Has anyone come accross this issue during your testing of 3.1.4.21??

    HI

I had the same problem. I even opened a PMR with IBM and they told me to start the cluster wth

clstartstop -start -n SSPNNAME -m NODE

    Hi Cesar,

Thanks for the information.  I also have a CASE open with IBM.  Once you started the cluster on the node with the problem could you reboot the VIOS without it returning to the same state?

    Thanks,
