Sorry to say we don't have one...
We're pretty much a standalone IBM server in a field of Windows users.

Do you have a NIM server? You can use it to upgrade the mskysb (mksysb migration) before you install it on the S1024, or you could upgrade the old box before moving it over?
It's been a few years since I've needed to use NIM to upgrade a mksysb before installing it....but I'm currently working on a project where I need to remember how to do that again!

Hi, Phil,
Thanks for the reply!
AIX 6.1 won't run the S1014, so it was a clean AIX install and cobbling the system back together.
Already merged /etc and its subfolder contents and have customer data from a point in time restored.
Once I get this ironed out, it'll be upgrade the database, test a bit, and deliver to the client.
Taking some liberties with your reply, you believe I can just migrate the missing folders over from their AIX61 mksysb.image without issue?
Easy enough to do and remove if issues arise...
Thanks again!

Are you performing a complete rebuild or an upgrade of an existing install?
AIX 6.1 is 64bit, there isn't a 32bit kernel beyond 5.3. Most 32bit software can still run on 64bit AIX (Oracle comes to mind as one that needs a 64bit install on 64bit OS). The 32bit application runtime is still there.
Check on the expansion pack for 7.3. The installers for Tivoli might not be in the default install (I'd need to check on this myself).

Working with a customer that is migrating from AIX 6.1 to AIX 7.3.
They use Tivoli GUID for interfacing with their online store. Both AIX 6.1 and 7.3 provide the package tivoli.tivguid at version 1.3.4.1, so was expecting an "easy" migration. But alas...
The installation on AIX 7.3 does not install the paths /opt/Tivoli or /var/opt/tivoli; the startup script in AIX 6.1 runs from /var/opt/tivoli/ep/runtime/nonstop/bin/nonstopservice.sh..
Documentation does not seem to exist; as the previous platform was 32-bit all the way and the new platform is 64-bit, I'm hesitant to copy the missing paths over from AIX 6.1. Although I doubt the 32-bit structure would break anything, if it doesn't work, I still have no path forward.
Any suggestions would be most welcomed - thank you in advance!
What would you do if you were in this situation?
