  • 1.  ACS EHLLAPI - Version 9.23.102 : "Auto-start HLLAPI Enabled" not activated

    Posted Thu May 25, 2023 06:18 AM
    Hi

I have installed "ACS EHLLAPI - Version 9.23.102" and I am running IBM ACS 1.1.9.2.
From what I understand, the option "Auto-start HLLAPI Enabler" should be activated if my session manager find the EHLLAPI bridge.
IBM help --> "You can only enable EHLLAPI if you have installed the EHLLAPI Bridge"
    But it is not.

Does anyone have an idea of what I may have done wrong or how I can find out ?
I have tried to run ACS 32 bit and 64 bit, but there is no difference.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Dear Denis

    >>>> From what I understand, the option "Auto-start HLLAPI Enabler" should be activated if my session manager find the EHLLAPI bridge.
IBM help --> "You can only enable EHLLAPI if you have installed the EHLLAPI Bridge"
    But it is not.  <<<<

In step 1 of this IBM Technote: EHLLAPI With the Access Client Solutions Emulator at https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/ehllapi-access-client-solutions-emulator, the text indicates that the "bridge" is also installed when you run acshllapi.exe.   And the screen shot you posted shows that the Auto-start HLLAPI Enabler status is already YES which corresponds to what you said about the bridge. So, it appears to me that things went the way you want.   Isn't this what you want?

Are you trying to say that your application that utilizes EHLLAPI does not run?   If so, is there any error message appearing?

Thank you for your answer Satid.
You are right that it seems to be enable and that is what I want at the end,
I was just expecting the field to be opened so I can enable or disable the value.
And according to IBM help, when it is not enable, that means that EHLLAPI Bridge is not installed (or not recognized installed in my case).
But I'll test to see if it works as it is now.
I just need to find out how to test as I am not the one working with this normally.
I'' update this thread when I have tested.

For those using EHLLAPI and macros on the IBM i please be mindful that it only works on a 32bit office (ie 32 bit Excel) environment, windows can be 64bit fine.

I have requested an updated 64bit api but this is on the back burner for IBM.
