Hi, has any one configured SEA over 100G?  can some one share the bandwidth restriction when creating ans assigning veth to lpar?

Make sure you take a look at the new Virtual Ethernet Software Multi Queue capability. It's designed to allow the AIX virtual ethernet driver to scale better in terms of bandwidth and latency with evolved network physical adapters with a speed of 100G and 200G speed (for example).

Thank you chris.  But in my case, all the Lpars are Redhat Linux based.

To add to Mr. Greene's post, I attach files providing current information on SR-IOV.

I would strongly recommend using SR-IOV instead of SEA.  I think all of the 100g adapters support SR-IOV.  Using SR-IOV will put the load of virtualization in the hypervisor and adapter.  You will need more memory assigned to the hypervisor, but that is offset by reduced requirements for buffers in vios.

If you need failover, use vNIC.

I would also recommend SR-IOV, VNIC, or HNV when virtualizing 100G. All three of these technologies should scale to higher bandwidth and transaction performance than SEA, with reduced overhead. Since you mention you are using Linux, I would also recommend following the suggestions in the Linux on Power performance guide, for any of these technologies. Linux also has a similar virtual ethernet multi-queue technology as was mentioned for AIX, and the guide provides instructions how to enable it.
